This is a great boot for fast, light hikes. It is very comfortable and required no break-in. the lacing system keeps the heel snug in a comfortable, supportive heel cup. This combined with a generous toe box makes for toe comfort on descents. This is not enough boot for serious long hikes or back backing (it lacks enough ankle support and would need a bigger, firmer sole). It is great for fast hikes and light day hikes with a light load, such as a lumbar pack.
