Comments about ASOLO Men's TPS 535 Leather Backpacking Boots, Brown:

EMS had the best price for the TPS 535. I think it may be an older model, but this Asolo boot has a long-standing reputation amongst outdoor pros and NOLS/Outward Bound students for durability and comfort. They start a bit stiff, but break in quick. The all-leather upper is appealing, as is the ankle support. Downside: the leather mars easily. I put small gashes in the toe in the first few minutes of hiking (granted, I was hiking on very sharp rock). But, look on the brightside, now my boots don't scream newbie! I would recommend this boot to people who want to hike, backpack, trudge up mountains and don't care about super flashy boots. I've had my TPS for a bit... now let's hope they don't pop stitches and lose their Vibram soles like my previous boots (all Vasque brand).

Note: These boots fit relatively true to size. I bought Men's size 9.5, as Asolo tends to go up a bit on the Euro to US sizing scale. (I normally wear a size 10 or EUR 43-44, but because Asolo asssigns an EUR 43 1/3 to US 9.5 my boots fit near perfectly).

Comments about ASOLO Men's TPS 535 Leather Backpacking Boots, Brown:

I have only had these boots for a couple of weeks but so far I am very happy with them. I wanted a boot that I could shovel the driveway in and also go for a hike. The boots are stiff but in a good/supportive way, not uncomfortable. Lots of support. At first I did think perhaps I had ordered a size too big, but after wearing them for a bit I like the little bit of extra breathing room around the toes, and my foot does not slide around & heal stays put. So far so good!

Comments about ASOLO Men's TPS 535 Leather Backpacking Boots, Brown:

I've owned three pairs of these boots now and have used them on mountain treks throughout the world and for heavy hiking and backpacking in the western US. I can't find a better-fitting, more versatile, tougher boot for the weight and money. I wear these everywhere except the desert (too warm). I get about two years out of a pair and I wish I could make them last a bit longer, but then they would be heavier. These boots are also reasonably waterproof without GoreTex and are fine for quick, shallow stream fords, as long as the water doesn't top the ankles. They are warm and stout enough for strapping into snowshoes. Extended backpacking trips in the mountains are really where they excel though.

Comments about ASOLO Men's TPS 535 Leather Backpacking Boots, Brown:

I bought these boots to wear at the office as I need stability due to a flattened foot.I also walk at lunchtime. These boots are so comfortable, and wear so well that I bought another pair and now wear the older ones for working around my property.
        Great boots!
