Comments about MARMOT Men's Minimalist Gore-Tex Jacket:

This Paclite jacket was sweaty the five times I used it, even with pit-zips open. I used it as a shell over a down sweater. I was walking in temperatures from 35f-50f. In comparison a NeoShell jacket, with no pit-zips, was never sweaty under identical conditions.

Comments about MARMOT Men's Minimalist Gore-Tex Jacket:

I bought this for hiking in Scotland this spring. Over many long hikes, my pack wore out my previous Marmont jacket and this is to be the replacement. I am 6'2" 230 with long arms and the XXL Tall fits great. The hood is not too big. (I also have a Marmont Precip that is an XL tall and it is fine with no fleece under it.) The fabric is stiff, so the hood holds its shape. The zippers and snaps are of good quality.

I have used this twice for snow blowing over a fleece top. Good at shedding snow and keeping water out, but even with the pit zips wide open it retains moisture. The inside is soaked after 1 hour. My previous Marmont jacket (not gortex) was a little better. I have a Gotex jacket from another manufacturer that was just a little better.

Some one told me once to never expect any rain jacket to breath under heavy exercise. I think he was right.

Comments about MARMOT Men's Minimalist Gore-Tex Jacket:

I use this as a casual and backpacking rain jacket. The jacket fits very well and has great features. A well-built zipper, sizeable pockets, nice hood, its reasonably wind-proof, and provides enough room to layer underneath. The sleeves are cut so that the over-hand length is longer than the under-hand/palm side of the sleeve, which I think is comfortable and a smart design. I have yet to use it in significant rain, so I cannot comment on its waterproof properties. If it proves to be breathable and waterproof in heavy rain, and if I could have gotten it in blue, I would give the jacket "5 stars."

Comments about MARMOT Men's Minimalist Gore-Tex Jacket:

Overall, seems good. Haven't had it long, but wore it once so far. Dissapointing it doesn't have a loop for hanging it up though. I always fear hanging from the hood will ruin the hood one day.

Great for hiking / camping or using anytime when raining. I can wear this over work clothing when walking in the rain, or when back packing through days of rain. Gore-Tex jacket keeps you dry and comfortable. Black is great for multi conditions.
