Comments about Eastern Mountain Sports EMS Women's ENDO Pants, Factory Seconds:

These are OK and the factory defect is hardly noticeable, but I thought I was getting another pair of the Endo pants I have and love. Apparently, my originals are the Endo TREK pants that I wear for x-country skiing and snowshoeing. When I saw the price of the factory seconds, I decided to get a second pair. So disappointed. These are completely different pants, much lighter in weight, somewhere between the weight of the original Trek pants and my (also well-loved) Compass pants, another EMS discontinued item. I can wear my originals without a base layer in moderate winter temps, but I would need an extra layer with the new ones. However, the new ones are more snug in the same size 10, so I can not add another layer. The new Endos have 5 zippered pockets, but the flaps over the zippers and the slant over the widest part of the hips are unflattering. Trek has 3 zippered pockets, but they lie beautifully flat. The hip zippers are more vertical, so they are very streamlined. The Trek pants have zippers at the bottoms of the legs; the new ones do not. Trek has a waistband that is partially elasticized at the back; new ones have a regular flat waistband. Both sit approximately just below belly button, just perfect for me as is the 31 inch inseam. I wore my Treks yesterday on a 5-mile snowshoe and wished I had a backup pair. I love everything about the Treks, but this Endo product is probably going back. EMS, please produce more Endo Trek pants and bring back the original Compass hiking pants. I hate to find a product I love only to see it discontinued.

Comments about Eastern Mountain Sports EMS Women's ENDO Pants, Factory Seconds:

Overall great hiking/active pant. Good amount of stretch in the fabric lets you move freely. The 31 inch inseam is a little too long for me, so I might have to hem them or risk destroying the cuff in the back. I wish that they had something to adjust the waist, internal drawstring/Velcro tabs, other than using a belt which might get uncomfortable with a pack. Good looking enough that I got away with wearing them to work. Fairly light weight fabric. I'm 5'6" about 140 and got the size 10 which is too big in the waist but fits great over my muscular legs.

I am 5'3'' and the regular ones are long on me, I would have ordered them in short, but they were out of stock at the time. Otherwise they are great pants and perfect for hiking.

Comments about Eastern Mountain Sports EMS Women's ENDO Pants, Factory Seconds:

I use these all the time for winter hiking (with a base layer), or hiking in the spring/fall in rainy weather. Comfortable .. love em. I have no problem with the pockets... I am on the short side - so they are a little long for me when I am barefooting around the house. But with hiking boots - no problem!

I used to love the Endo pants a few years ago, but these are much wider and shorter. They did not fit my relatively narrow figure, but they might work if you need shorter inseam.

Comments about Eastern Mountain Sports EMS Women's ENDO Pants, Factory Seconds:

I'm using this pant for a 10 day pilgrimage hike in Shikoku Japan in Feb/March. The weather will be rainy and 40 - 50's. I tried lots of travel pants, but they felt too thin. This soft shell version was the right price, and the best fit for my needs.

I did go with the closeout size which was one size too big and ended up tailoring both side seams and waist. Took out a front pocket, because they were so big and heavy and that worked well. I'm slim, so the hip was a bit baggy, with a s-curve seam at the hip, had to be taken in to work and not appear frumpy. Wasn't difficult! Now they are the perfect fit.

Material has worn a bit however in back near shoes where it may have been long, before I altered it. Looks like pilling. Time will tell. Fabric is heavy, compared to super light travel pants, but that's the bit of warmth I needed.

When washed they were heavy, and didn't dry on own before morning. Could have rolled in a towel to improve this.

        Hope this helps!

Comments about Eastern Mountain Sports EMS Women's ENDO Pants, Factory Seconds:

These pants are perfect for cold weather hiking and they look good enough for regular wear. They seem to shed dirt easily so look good after the hike too. They are warm but breathe well so are comfortable when your body heats up going up hill and even stay up if you roll them up on a really big climb. They might not be perfect but they work great for me, especially for the price I paid. I am very small and have a hard time finding pants that fit. I had to hem these but that was easy enough. I liked them so much I've bought an extra pair!
