Comments about THE NORTH FACE Men's ThermoBall Triclimate Jacket:

Picked up this jacket ahead of a business trip to China that would have me in 70F to 20F weather, so needed a 3-in-1 jacket.

This jacket is long enough to wear over a sports jacket/blazer - so perfect for dressing up and down. The flannel grey pattern on the shell really helps the jacket be able to be worn with active wear or business casual attire. I got tons of compliments wearing this to meetings as I traveled around NYC/China - so this will get you style points if you tend to be the creative/athletic/adventure type. I'd probably shy away from wearing this if I was going to a board meeting, that said.

The jacket performs like a champ - keeps you warm and the synthetic thermoball performs amazingly. I tend to prefer down but for something packable I wanted to avoid looking like I had just plucked chickens. This thing really regulates well. Able to handle 50F with open vents and front, and able to handle 20F with a sports jacket and dress shirt only. Took it down to 10F with a sweater with no issues.

It's also very rainproof - I had to administer a bike race in the rain as part of volunteer work, and the jacket beaded all the rain - for 4h, and stayed warm.

The only thing I could wish for is that it could stand up to 30mph+ winds, recently experienced, but that's a tough ask for anything without windstop to handle.

This is a nice add to the closet and definitely givees my 3/4 length down coat a run for its money.

The price and styling and performance are killer on this.

Comments about THE NORTH FACE Men's ThermoBall Triclimate Jacket:

At 15 degrees, I went to shovel snow and then some snowshoeing. When looking to replace my LL Bean 3-in-1, I didn't think this would be as warm due to the thickness. But now, I'm convinced. With a fleece layer, it's as warm as the womb. The combo of the vapor proof outer layer and the thermoball inner layer do the trick. It traps your own heat to keep you warm and not get chilled by the wind. However, the napoleon pocket is on the outside, and when it's cold your cell phone battery is going to get sapped quick. Also the thermoball layer could use inside pockets. But other than that, it's a quality product.
