Comments about OUTDOOR RESEARCH Men's Rampart Pants:
This pair of pants rocks...70 mph wind, horizontal pouring rain, trail overhung with tall grass and low scrub heavy with moisture.
Not a drop got in over 6 hrs of open ridges. Lock 'em down to my boots with the lace loops or with my gaiters and stream fording in dryness is possible.
Well worth the money and will probably buy a second pair to stash away. Will not disappoint.
Did Moosilauke on 11/11 in the low 30's and winds at the summit 35-40 mph, with these and a set of light fleece long johns. Never felt the wind and not even remotely chilled, in fact it's been a good 2 layer system for any time past Oct. thru April.
Stores in its own pocket, stuffs down into a bike bag, takes zilch for room in the pack, adds little weight for the benefit (the Rampart jacket is just as good if you can find one). I never head out into the back country without them.
- Feels true to size
- Feels true to length
