Comments about Eastern Mountain Sports EMS Women's Adirondack Cargo Pants:
I was very disappointed to find that these pants are not Classic Rise, as described--they are definitely low-mid rise (waist falls at least an inch below naval.) I need these for hiking and being active and they are just not comfortable/free moving enough for that. Really too bad as they are nice looking pants with the features I wanted, but they are going back.

Comments about Eastern Mountain Sports EMS Women's Adirondack Cargo Pants:
I purchased these pants to wear on a 10 day backpacking trip to Central America. I wore them for my flight and first day of travel, but when I took them off upon reaching my first destination, I realized that the seam along the inner edge of the back right pocket had torn all the way through. The pants were completely ruined--there was a several inch long tear which went all the way through the pants and allowed my underwear to be visible. My first day of travel was very casual and did NOT involve any activities that should have caused the pants to break. I am very disappointed. Luckily, I had another pair of EMS cargo pants (the lightweight ones that convert into shorts) that held up well for the remaining 9 days.

Comments about Eastern Mountain Sports EMS Women's Adirondack Cargo Pants:
On the up side: these pants fit great and are comfortable. The rise is not too high and I like how they sit on my hips rather than narrowing ridiculously at the waist or flaring out at the hips. Cuffs fit over my hiking boots nicely. I would not recommend them for backpacking as the fabric is fairly heavy cotton and not breathable, so you would get cold and wet. By the end of the day they are a bit saggy. Most importantly: THE POCKET BUTTONS ALL POP OFF ALL THE TIME! Only the fly button stays on, which is because it's actually a rivet style. I have been wearing my pants for about a year and I am constantly losing the pocket buttons and sewing them back on. They get caught on everything and come right off. Finally I have given up on them and will try to replace them with flat buttons or rivet style buttons. The pants themselves are holding up fine.

Comments about Eastern Mountain Sports EMS Women's Adirondack Cargo Pants:
I use these pants for work at a dock, where the work is physical, fast pace and dirty. These pants are roomy and comfortable for the high demand of movement and flexibility needed.

Comments about Eastern Mountain Sports EMS Women's Adirondack Cargo Pants:
I love these pants so much that I have 4 pairs. I think they run a bit short, because they fit me pretty well and I'm usually a petite size. Like one of the other reviewers, I have had tears on ALL 4 pairs on the inside of the back pockets. There is a definite problem with the way the pocket is attached. I am too lazy to go back to exchange or return them, so I keep using iron-on patches to repair them. The pants are so comfortable, I'm considering buying more, despite the poor construction.

Comments about Eastern Mountain Sports EMS Women's Adirondack Cargo Pants:
My staple wardrobe!
But I miss the nylon zip-off pants from 5-6 years ago!!! Much better fit, light weight, better color (stone) almost worn out now.
The front pockets should start higher -- no need for buttons.
The leg pockets - wish they were stitched down, with no gusset.
I always run a seam up the back of the legs, as they are way too wide.
I wear a size 6-8, but in these, a size 2-4.
