I use this top for early/late season running and canoeing. It is lightweight, comfortable and warm. The sleeves are tailored to avoid seams in the arm pit which make it an excellent shirt for anything with repetitive arm movements (running, canoeing, cross-country skiing, etc). I plan to buy the thicker version for the colder months. The sleeves are a little long for me, but then again I am kinda short.....Overall, its a Great product!

Be prepared for a tight fit. I like the fit for running, hiking, and climbing. It is a great base layer with very little bulk. And warm.

This would be a great shirt if it was longer in the body. I'm only 5'8", 145 lbs and this medium shirt fits snugly, as appropriate for a base layer BUT it's too #$%'n short and pulls out of my pants when doing x-skiing or anything that requires bending (like putting on a pair of snowshoes). I've washed it once (in cold water) and dried flat (per instructions) and it hasn't shrunk much (but it didn't get any longer either). I recommend buying this shirt only in the "tall" version (if their is one). Tall people should find something else.

I live in this shirt. I've been skiing, traveling, bar hopping, snow shoveling, and sleeping in this shirt. It is simply amazing, and well worth the money in my opinion.

Inside in the winter, it's fine by itself. Outside in New England, I'm throwing another layer on top (260). I've worn this shirt for nearly a week straight without washing (shamed to admit, but true) including as a base layer for a ski trip. It doesn't smell and it doesn't feel icky. I can't say the same for my poly polartech base layers from past years. Other than a cotton T-shirt in the summer, I don't think I will be putting another fabric against my skin. This is "it".

My only complaint is the tag on the back of the neck was rubber stamped or printed on, and it has peeled off. No big deal in my mind. I would rather have it peel than have a flappy tag back there forever anyway.

Really nice fabric with a fairly tight weave and smooth texture, not too thin, and of course, all the magical properties of Merino wool. At 5'7" and 140lb I'm on the border between small and medium. After reading a lot of reviews, I went with medium and I'm happy with that choice. The shirt fits closely enough for layering, but I wouldn't call it snug. I could wear another tight fitting shirt under it. The sleeves are on the long side of perfect, but not a problem.

Fabric is soft and wonderful. Great Planet (blue) color. However, wearing it with a sweatshirt or mid layer I find the seams on the sides to be super irritating and itchy. Perhaps a few times through the wash will solve this...? I'm tempted to wear it inside out if the problem persists. Otherwise the fabirc is great and It's breathability is far greater than the plastic shirts, which feel yucky and clammy in cool weather. Also, as a firefighter and hazmat team member I feel confident in wearing a safe fabric.

Great merino base layer. Cant beat icebreaker for the price. Wear it for everyday, to work out, climb, hike and sleep in. It does not smell, which means you can have more friends. Do not machine dry.

someone told me icebreaker is better construction that icebreaker, i havent had the thing long enough to put it to the test but i think the source is credible. i did notice a disctinct difference in its ability to remove sweat over the cotton junk i used to wear, but you already knew that.
