I'm an Appalachian Trail thru-hiker and have had nothing but problems with this boot. Maybe it's just my foot, but I was still getting crippling blisters after over 300 miles. I needed new insoles due to a complete weardown of the cushioning before the 500 mile mark. The treading completely wore down, and the soles detached entirely on the right foot before 700 miles. The backs of my ankles were rubbed raw when all the fabric and cushioning wore down. While the ankle support was adequete, this is not the boot for you if you have weak ankles, nothing special.As a thru-hiker, gear talk is quite common on the trail. No one that I talked to had spectacular things to say about Keen. On a positive note, they do replace their boots and have great customer service.

These have been put to the test.... I hike all the time...all types of situations...
the sole has come a apart a number of times (I use gorilla glue to repair) now that they are a year old the shoe squeeks... which makes my quiet time not so quiet... but still I'm giving them another shot... talk to you next year

I have a neuroma in my foot which is aggravated by my toes being cramped. Keen makes really wide toe boxes and have quality shoes overall. I love these boots!

As usual, Keen is very comfortable, especially roomy through the ball of the foot allowing room for a hiking sock. Because the back is cut a little lower it is very comfortable for hiking. Super boot! I give it the highest rating (and I tried many other brands on before purchasing Keen).

I'm planning on beginning an Appalachian Trail thru hike with these boots. I have hiked approximately 25 miles in them so far and no blisters or hot spots. Initially my feet would feel fatigued after 2 or 3 hours, but now they feel great after wearing these boots all day. There was no significant break in period. I hope they hold up for 500 miles or more.
