I needed a boot to wear on a 7-day backcountry backpacking trip. After trying on seven different pair of boots, all of which would come right off my feet while walking up an incline, I was excited to finally find this pair. It's comfortable, has plenty of room in the toe box, and is narrow enough in the heel to keep my feet in place. It could be a bit narrower for me, but at least my feet don't slip right out of these boots. So far, I've put about three miles on them, and they have been wonderful. They're a bit stiff right out of the box, but not so stiff that they cause hot spots or blisters. Although I wear a size 8 athletic shoe, I ordered a 7.5 in this shoe (which is the size I wear in dress shoes) and they are just a smidge on the large side. With thick socks, at the end of a day on my feet, they fit perfectly. They appear to be sturdy and well-made, and I'm looking forward to putting a couple hundred miles on them in the near future.
