I use these boots for outdoor activities in cold, wet weather.
They look good and are indestructable....that said, breaking them in has been a nightmare. The sole feels like concrete, will not bend and occasionally the rigid nature throws me off balance. As a former long distance backpacker, I would not wear these on the trail before really breaking them in.

so far so good with this boot. the 1st few days the boot was a bit stiff but after a few hours each day for a week the stiffness starts to slightly fade. the lacing is really easy and stays tied with no loosening. water seems to beed up on the leather but has yet to soak thru. i have only goten them slightly wet and nothing hardcore yet. big bang for the buck

30 miles on the boots. Two weeks daily wearing, then 14 miles with a 40 lb pack. Trail consisted of wet rocks/boulders, dry loose pack. I added a set of Superfeet "green" insoles. No blisters and feet in great condition. Still could use some breaking in, but I expect the boots to improve further with additional miles. These boots are bombproof. If you want traditional style and resole-able, this is your boot.
