I use these socks daily. They cushion your feet and keep your feet warm in winter and cool in warmer weather. Although they are made mostly of wool they are not at all itchy. They last a long time. I wash them in the washing machine and air dry them to help them last longer, but I have dried them on a low setting and they were fine. The regular hiking socks are great too. They are a little thicker but are also good for every day use. Best socks ever!

Bought the same socks 5 years ago and loved them. They're starting to wear through in the typical spots so I bought the same socks just after this Christmas. The new socks are not nearly as form fitting as the old ones. Wearing them around the house they fit loosly and slide around. The size is not the issue. These socks used to have more elasticity that the new model doesn't seem to have. Inside my barn boots that I wear for mucking horse stalls the socks slide around and require being pulled up again and again. More elasticity please.

I have been wearing these socks for 4 years now. I won't buy anything else. Other socks slip down in my boots and twist around when I'm wearing my crocs in the house. Smartwools stay in place. Also, there have been occasions where i've had to wear them 2 days in a row -- still smelled fresh and were still snug (not stretched out). I wear them in the colder months for regular daily use, walking in the snow in my snowboots, and just lounging around. If they get wet from the rain or snow, the water wicks away from the skin.

These sox have cushioning in the right places and not where it's not needed such as the back of the heel or top of the foot. This allows a good fit of my foot into my boot. I have used these soxs for many years, I hope they don't stop making them. I have a large foot and use the largest size boots, the cushioning in the right places allow my foot to fit in, bulkier sox make the fit too tight.
