Provides protection for the face that becomes essential when the wind is blowing and the temperature is below about 20F. The length nicely meets the top of a fleece collar leaving no exposed skin. There is good ventilation for breathing through the nose, but the limited holes for the mouth mean that with any kind of physical exertion, it quickly becomes drenched, and sunglasses can not be worn due to fogging from exhalation.

I wore this while hiking a mountain. The temperature was about 18 with a strong wind. It kept me warm and I could easily breath through it. It was easy to pull off my face if I got too hot. If you wear sun glasses they do fog up making it difficult to see.

I bought this for my last ski trip. Yes, it looks a little funny up, but at least you aren't freezing or getting windburn on your face. It could be useful for shoveling or anything outside in cold weather. I also thought it looked a little funny when I folded it down and was slightly bulky. I think you are supposed to turn it the other way (upside down) when you pull it down, but I'm too busy skiing to do that especially when the weather is variable. It worked well with a helmet and it wasn't so long or bulky that i had trouble zipping my jacket. I ordered a medium, although I am a fairly short female. I would consider being careful not to order this product too small, unless you know you willl be leaving it over your face all day. The velcro is in the back, so remember to watch your hair when you put it on. Overall, I have never found a neck gaiter I liked better in cold conditions. I cannot comment on durability, but I would consider buying another one in the future because it worked for me.

I have used this to walk & jog my dog at low temperatures and found it to be much much better than just wrapping a scarf around my nose and chin. It's very comfortable, and although I look like a bank robber, I think it's worth it. My only complaint is that by the time I'm breathing heavily through my mouth, the small holes aren't enough to let the moisture escape (vs the nose area which is great) and wish there were a mouth slit instead, or other fabric that wicks away moisture more quickly. Maybe I'm a heavy breather. Overall, I'd recommend this to the lovers of cold weather, but not a cold feeling.

Perfect design -- very warm & windproof without the claustraphopic feeling, & very easily removed. Mainly I use this for iceboating in the winter where I'm sitting in full wind going ~60 mph on days down to zero degrees (F), where the wind chill is well into negative numbers. I've also used it for backcountry snowboarding where the terrain has been very exposed. Thin enough to fit well inside my snowmobile helmet when iceboating & also fits perfectly with my snowboard helmet. There's no way you'd get frostbite on your face with this on.

The face mask is being used by my son in his Ice Scuplting Class at culinary school. The face mask protects face from the cold and ice shavings. The scuplting takes place in a controlled environment where the tempature is set at approximately 25 degrees F. When the chips start flying the mask protects from possible exposure conditions. When things are done for the day it is easy to remove the mask and store.

We used our new Seirus face masks while skiing this past weekend and they were wonderful. It was bitter cold with the wind, and they kept our faces warm while skiing. I don't think we could have stayed outside as long as we did, had we not had these on! My younger son used his while sledding and it kept his cheeks from getting red and chapped.

Keeps face and neck warm. Along with a hooded down-coat, you can go outside in bitter weather and stay warm.
