Comments about VASQUE Men's Breeze GTX Hiking Boots, Wide, Taupe:
This is my sixth pair of these boots over the years - they last me between 10 to 12 months. Wear them all the time - primary footwear.
Everthing about these boots is excellent - as long as they keep making them i will keep buying them !!

Comments about VASQUE Men's Breeze GTX Hiking Boots, Wide, Taupe:
Right out of the box I put the boots to the extreme test by hiking the Mount Megunticook ridge trail in Camden State Park. This 7 hr hike had every conceivable challenge for a boot. Snow, water, mud and rocks. The trail had washout areas with softball sized rocks that made me glad I had chosen high tops. I broke through the snow several times into the water below but had no problems with being wet. The boots had outstanding traction on steep boulder surfaces. I was concerned about how my feet would feel from a long, very steep descent but to my relief "no toe blisters". The boots were light and fit very well with no break in period. I feel very confident recommending these boots. One word of caution the normal boot ran narrow for me (average foot) so I went with the wide for a perfect fit>

I got more then I had expected from this boot. It kept me extremely dry and warm going from puddles to rough terrain in 35 degree temperatures. Overall one of the best most durable hiking boots for the money I have ever worn.

Comments about VASQUE Men's Breeze GTX Hiking Boots, Wide, Taupe:
This is my second pair of Vasque with soles' problems. I am dissapointed by the quality of the boots and I had to return them for refund.
The way Vasque's soles are made is problematic. The uneven glue creates air pockets and pressure points under the foot. You may feel the problem right away or hear noises when you walk.
I have the Vasque Breeze SVT Low and they are absolutely great hiking shoes, but the boots version carries only their name...

Comments about VASQUE Men's Breeze GTX Hiking Boots, Wide, Taupe:
Great value and like the boot; I get 3 hiking seasons in the NH White's, about 120-150 miles/year and the uppers are still great, but the vibram is getting worn enough to replace and notice better traction. Minimal break in, comfortable for long rugged hikes after just a few short ones. Would buy again, and in fact did; this pair replaced my previous identical pair.
Sizing: true. I have a wide foot and in the past had to oversize to get the needed width. Not with these. My 8.5 (US male) is wide enough for my E or more width.

Comments about VASQUE Men's Breeze GTX Hiking Boots, Wide, Taupe:
After a few months the soles began to come apart evenly on both boots, starting with the heel and then the toe. I've had these about 9 months and put about 100 miles on them to date. Aside from that one complaint these boots have great traction, one of the most impressive traits.

Comments about VASQUE Men's Breeze GTX Hiking Boots, Wide, Taupe:
This boots fell apart within a year. They are terrible. Never were they remotely waterproof. I've had Asolo previously but thought I'd give these cheaper boots a test. My Asolo's lasted nearly a decade. These are no match for Asolo. The extra money is well worth it in the long run.

Comments about VASQUE Men's Breeze GTX Hiking Boots, Wide, Taupe:
Each year I hike 500-750 miles in FL, VA, WV, CO, WY, and MT. Since I usually buy a new set of boots each year I end up with lots of different boots to choose from for any given hike. For most hikes I find myself choosing the Vasque Breeze. The boots comfort my feet, feel very stable, are not too stiff or too soft, feel fairly light, and seem to be holding up pretty well. They work.
