Even though the sole of the shoes is vibram, I find them very slippery on any wet surface. I thought it would get better with used but I keep falling with them. I just bought a different hiking shoes.

I recently traveled to the Amazon, and needed a pair of hiking boots in short notice. I was attracted to the lack of break-in needed for these boots, as well as the wide sizing. I love this boot! The pros: Dries quickly, Comfortable, Breathable The cons: Laces come undone easily, slippery on wet surfaces.

Love these boots!!! All in all good traction. They were still a little slippery on mossy rocks as most boots are. Other than that, fantastic boots!!! I would highly recommend!!!

I was hesitant to wear these boots for the first time without breaking them in, but like other reviews I agree, you don't need to break them in. Simply put them on and enjoy! I wore them for the first time and did a 9 mile hike. There were plenty of rocks, rain, streams and mud to contend with and I have NO complaints! My last pair I had for over 10 years. I am hoping these will be equally as durable. Oh, and I usually wear a women's 9 wide shoe. The 10 was too big, but the 9.5 was perfect.

I have a wide foot. This is the hiking boot that I've found that truly accommodates a wide foot. There is no break-in period with this boot because the top is like a sneaker. It protects your ankle well. I've hiked for miles in these boots. It is not designed for winter hiking, but I've worn them in the winter. These are my favorite hiking boots.

I bought my regular size (9) then returned it and got the next size up (9.5). Having worn them in the field, I now feel I should have gotten an even larger size (i.e. 10). However, even though my toes were pinched by the end of the day, the boots generally felt great.
