This boot is comfortable for hiking in both summer and winter, wet or dry land. It gives good ankle support without riding too high above the ankle. Its neutral color is attractive and matches most outfits. The only negative is the band that secures the boot rides across the bunion area, so I buy a larger size. Also, it does not come in 10 1/2, just 10 or 11.

This was by far the most comfortable boot I tried on but with a few small issues. Front was a little too narrow but was perfect with a little stretching by the EMS staff. My narrow heal was allowing slippage to the front of the boot but using a different lacing technique my heal was sucked into the back of the boot. Just a few tweaks and it was perfect. Traction is great even on inclined exposed rock at all angles. The ankle support stopped me from turning my ankle several times. Hiking the same trails as before, I found it much easier and more enjoyable. I had a lot of fun trying different obstacles to see how the boot performed and it shined!

I love these boots! They required no break in at all and the cushioning surrounds your foot so there is no rubbing toes or heels. Stepped in a large puddle and didn't feel a thing! Haven't worn them in cold weather yet (since it's almost May), so I can't say much for that but if they're anywhere near as good in cold weather as they have been so far, I would get another pair in a heartbeat! Awesome boot for a reasonable price.

Bought these in the store, wore once around town and then took on a two week hiking trip where we hiked 5-9 miles a day on rugged terrain. These were excellent in all conditions. My foot is wider in the front, narrow in the back and I have high arches. These were comfortable from day one! Highly recommend!

Unfortunately I had to return these:1. They leaked slightly with a quick submersion (not over the top) at a stream crossing. 2. The sides of my big toes went numb on the downhill. My feet are hard to find boots for, not necessarily a fault of the boot.3. The rubber on one toe started to separate. I was willing to glue that, but....4. The clincher, the bottom most layer of the sole started to come apart at the heel on both boots. I probably only put 60 miles on these boots. Kind of bummed now that I also bought these exact boots for my son. His are okay so far.[...] I think I'll just bring Gore tex socks and keep on with my old, leaky boots.

Was my third pair of Vasques. Might not be the most attractive boots but are the most comfortable, durable, reliable and require no break in time. I hike long distances and have received my money's worth out of each. I have a high arch with a narrow heal but need a fairly wide toe box. These are the perfect shoe for that.

While this is a nice looking boot and lightweight, it just did not fit right from the begining. After a week of walking around in it, I returned it. No questions asked. Go EMS! I did buy another boot from EMS that was superb. Just came back from a two week trip to Bhutan and loved the second (Asolo) boot.

I got these at EMS in North Conway NH and wore them that day on a 4000 ft climb on Mt Chicoura. It was a perfect day with outstanding weather and my boots topped it off. I had not one blister on the whole climb with new boots on. They fit great and were good support. My feet were tired after the climb, but I think that is my feet not the boots. Have bought the same pair for my husband since then.
