I looked for the best boot best price. I looked at Wasatch many times along with many others. I liked this boot for look and Goretex. I was able to get a deal on a return due to size and mark down of [$]. I used during around town for break in freezing rain, slush and general wear for 12 hours. Perfect. I am looking forward to a long hike in the Whites of NH with these.

I've always had trouble finding wide boots that were actually wide enough for me. These boots seemed to fit the bill, and they did (as far as the width went) on a recent trip to Idaho, Montana, and Wyoming. However, the construction of the boot did not hold up. After a 9 mile and 13 mile hike, the construction of the right boot broke down causing a part of the heel construction to dig into my ankle bone. It felt like a knife was cutting into the bone. I can't wear these boots again. I will be contacting Vasque to alert them of this problem.

I hardly wore theese boots for a while as i mostly do sea kayaking. However theese boots kept delaminating along the toe area, i tried to fix it myself but it would never stick, i also took it to a shore repair shop to no avail. Also, the leather looks very worn after a year or so of light use. So the search is still on for a boot which will give more than a years worth of good use.

I think that this boot will work for what I need, I do recommend a better cushion insert. The structure of support for both foot and ankle at this point seem to be of high quality, it does take time to break them in

First off, I wear orthotics so I need a size larger than my normal 13. I did not think I would find anything in the store. I tried on these and two other brands. These feel solid. We went for a short fast 3 mile hike on new years day, with two inches of snow on the ground. These boots came alive on the trail. I am happy with the fit, feel and traction so far. We will see how they do on a ten miler.
