Comments about ASOLO Men's Power Matic 200 GV Backpacking Boots:

Purchased these boots in July of 2009. Hiked 40 of the 4000 footers since then with numerous backpacking trips in between. These boots have been rock solid performers the entire time. These boots even stayed dry during a brutal 6 mile downhill climb of Mt. Garfield where the trail practically turned into a waterfall. My only issue is that the boots tend to run on the warm side so a liner sock was critical for me. Otherwise these boots rock!!!!

Comments about ASOLO Men's Power Matic 200 GV Backpacking Boots:

Bought these boots to replace my Vasque Sundowner's that had surpassed their mileage. Perfect fit for my feet, great support and stability. Only one issue: They do not seem to have great traction on wet rocks/pavement. My Vasque boots had better adherence, but that's about it. Excellent lacing system, feet stay well positioned and comfortable.

Comments about ASOLO Men's Power Matic 200 GV Backpacking Boots:

This is my third pair of Asolo brand boots. I will continue to use this brand. I've been very pleased in almost all aspects of this shoe. As a professional guide, my boots are one of the most important pieces of gear I buy. I've had the best luck in all aspects with this brand and so far these boots have held up better than my other two Asolo boots.

Comments about ASOLO Men's Power Matic 200 GV Backpacking Boots:

For the past 5 years I have worn my Vasque Wasatch hiking boots until they wore through on the sides near the ball of my foot. I spent a lot of time trying on different boots trying to find a replacement. The power matic 200 boots have great reviews so I ordered them online. I normally don't order boots without trying them on, but they were not available at my local store. I wear a regular width men's 13 in all of my footwear and that's what I ordered the power matic 200 in. When I first tried them on the right boot fit very comfortably, but the left boot felt too narrow. I wore them around the house for a little while, but it did not get any better. I thought it was strange that only one boot didn't fit correctly, so I ordered another pair to see if it was a possible defect. The second pair of boots arrived a couple days later and I had the same result. I returned the second pair of boots and decided to try superfeet insoles to see if they changed the fit of the boots. I purchased the green super feet and they completely changed the boots, for the better. With the new insoles, these are probably the most comfortable pair of heavy boots that I have ever worn. The original insoles are very thin and offer very little arch support. With the super feet, the boots feel larger around the areas of my feet that need extra space.

I immediately took the boots on a 7 mile hike without any real break in period and the boots remained very comfortable throughout the trip. The hike had multiple climbs and descents with lots of rocks and roots. The stability of the boots was great. I was only carrying a day pack, so I can not say how the boots feel under a heavy load, but I don't anticipate any problems. It was a cool day (~50 degrees F)with some light rain and my feet remained warm and dry. I didn't have any problems with traction.

Overall I am very satisfied with the boots. Its a shame that I had to purchase after market insoles to make them wearable, but the rest of the boot is bomb proof. I would not have kept the boots if I didn't like their construction and quality.

After some of the craziest punishement Afghan mountains could offer, these boots took it time and time again. From extreme elevations to flooded farmland, these boots did it all. Now my entire team uses them.

I will continue to purchase Asolo from now on.

Comments about ASOLO Men's Power Matic 200 GV Backpacking Boots:

I have owned these boots for over 6 years and have used them almost everyday as my casual boots. They look great and have done lots of trekking through the desert in AZ, woods in CT and beaches in FL. Not once have they let me down, until now, the sole has begun to separate, so I will will glue it, and keep them as my work boots, which they have been as well.
I just placed an order from EMS for another pair that should last just as long!!!

Bought these for backpacking use and they absolutely saved me on my most recent trip! Kept my feet bone dry when crossing rivers and hoofing it though mud. Grip and ankle support was unreal when traversing rock slides. Not too stiff and great lacing. This boot is quality and you will feel it.

Had them sized in person beforehand to make sure they fit though.
