Comments about SOREL Men's Conquest Boots:
Good support, break-in period not bad. They felt comfortable after about a week of daily wear. The ankle strap is pretty pointless. I treated the leather with snow seal, as anyone should that expects their feet to stay dry, and have found them to be waterproof as expected. Good traction, even on ice. Warm but not -40 warm.

Comments about SOREL Men's Conquest Boots:
Very comfortable boot on first use. Excellent sole and arch stiffness and support for mountaineering (boulder hopping). Lace eyelets are all open loops so difficult to tighten laces. Should have mid boot pinch eyelets. Also the cinch clamp on built-in gaiter rubs on my shin. It should be located in the back or on the outer side, not in the front where it rubs. Overall I am satisfied with the boot.

Comments about SOREL Men's Conquest Boots:
I have owned these boots for six years and have used them from everyday use to extreme pack hunts. One thing for certain they are not waterproof like described. They are water resistant to a certain extent. I have used them on numerous occasions for elk hunting and they have done well in steep terrain and with heavy loads. However they have not done well in long periods of snow cause your feet eventually get wet even with gaiters. I have sealed them but only helps a little. I will say my feet for the most part have always stayed warm in them. As for durability they have held up well considering the abuse I have thrown at them. Achilles strap is worthless did not notice any help. The built in gaiter works ok it does rub some on your shin. Overall a good boot but would recommend something else if you encounter a lot of wet or you are in a lot of deep snow.

Just spent 3 days hiking in the Whites. Except for sleeping, spent all the time wearing these boots. Temps around 20. Feet stayed warm and dry.

Comments about SOREL Men's Conquest Boots:
I just got these a month ago (not at EMS) and have liked them since I first wore them outside. Great for tromping in snow. I first used them sitting on my lawn tractor/snowthrower (i.e. inactive use) and my feet were still warm after 2 hours. I bought them large to fit thick socks inside and I still get good traction inside (not much slop) because I can tighten them down. The inner-sole is plenty thick enough for warmth.
The laces are a bit slow, but the built-in gaiter is quick and helpful. I have high arches so had to build in extra support but otherwise they're totally comfortable. I expect to wear these happily for many years.
I haven't tried driving with them yet.

Comments about SOREL Men's Conquest Boots:
These boots are heavy and stiff...but they break in easily and hold up like body armor. I put in about 30 miles in ice/snow on them the first week I had them and they were great, no blisters or discomfort at all.

Comments about SOREL Men's Conquest Boots:
Terrific boot, I was mainly concerned about wearing these boots while driving, not a problem. They do very well in the cold, feet stay warm and comfortable in subzero temps. It does take some time to get them on and laced up, but when they are laced up correctly they feel great.

Comments about SOREL Men's Conquest Boots:
Overall a great sturdy and warm outdoor boot. Could use a tad more insulation in toe box but this would not stop me from buying again. This boot will last. when you want a little more boom for your boot this is the one to buy.

Comments about SOREL Men's Conquest Boots:
Bought these as I prepared for my 1st winter overnight hike. Climbed up to Lafayette Hut (Mt. Lafayette, NH) for an overnight. I do recommend breaking these in as I wore for about two weeks prior to the hike. Great traction on ice/snow/wet conditions. Wore these up most of hike before needing my crampons for last steep part as trail became more of a sledding hill due to descending day hikers. Kept my feet warm and dry throughout the 5 hour hike up and through zero temps @ 4300 feet up, with only one pair of wool socks on too. Easily attached crampons and MSR Evo snowshoes. Only giving 4 stars due to break-in need (ankles) and weight - these are heavy boots! Laces are also difficult to tighten due to eyelet design. Will be my primary winter boots but may get lighter winter hikers for next year.
