Great looking shoe, fits well with good support. I wear a size 12 in pretty much every shoe I've ever had, needed to up to a 13 for this one.

Comments about Five Ten FIVE.TEN Men's Camp Four Approach Shoes:

These kicks are pretty good. I have worn them on a few hikes and I also wear them to work (film production, a lot of outdoor locations). Comfortable, I went up a half size but I might go up a full size for the next pair.

Comments about Five Ten FIVE.TEN Men's Camp Four Approach Shoes:

I wore these shoes for about 8 months, and during this time they offered great traction and were surprisingly good at keeping my feet dry. However after 6 months the internal lining came un-stitched and at the eight month mark the sole came unglued, rendering the shoes useless. I tried to repair them with epoxy, but that made walking uncomfortable so I had to get rid of them.

Great shoes, but don't expect them to stay in one piece for over a year if you wear them often.

Comments about Five Ten FIVE.TEN Men's Camp Four Approach Shoes:

I have been wearing these for years. Have tried other shoes and keep coming back. The grip, stability and fit are better than anything else out there.

Amazing Grip - the sole wears quicker than others but that is a GOOD thing - it means you get grip in all conditions.

Sizing - they are a lower volume shoe but again a good thing as this offers great terrain feel and helps with foot placement. This is an approach shoe so it has been designed for technical terrain.

The durability has been great. Excellent construction and materials. I have abused these for years and they are still holding together.

Comments about Five Ten FIVE.TEN Men's Camp Four Approach Shoes:

I seconded a 5.8 trad climb yesterday in these as a warm up, which included a foot jam in a 5 inch crack. These shoes held up admirably, and I didn't feel the need to change into my rock shoes (which I had clipped to my harness just in case).

I've also been hiking a lot in these since I got them a few weeks ago. My ankles roll easily, and I'm generally not ok with non-hightop shoes, but these have been working out great. I did have one slight ankle roll on one hike in these, but I wasn't paying attention to my foot work, and I haven't had a problem since. I've been very happy with the heel cage.

I also hiked in some pretty wet conditions across bare trap rock and have done several scrambles in such conditions in these, and they have held up great. The rubber sticks to wet rock pretty darned perfectly.

Comments about Five Ten FIVE.TEN Men's Camp Four Approach Shoes:

I wear these backpacking and hiking in places like the Grand Canyon, Canyonlands, Cedar Mesa and rocky trails in Colorado - anywhere I'm on rock, wet or dry. With other brands I have found their soles slicker than snot on most wet rock. These stick. My first pair were used in Scotland where the rock is always wet. No slips.
I have wide feet so wider widths would be appreciated. I have to wear pretty skimpy socks at size 13 for these to be comfortable.
Don't know how they would fare in mud.

Comments about Five Ten FIVE.TEN Men's Camp Four Approach Shoes:

The Camp four comes in a mid height & a low, this is the shoes, the mid is the boot version. I fit my Camp Fours exactly & they were comfortable right out of the box, they can be used for trail running as well as a hiking because they feel like great support & are very light, not waterproof but highly water resistant & easily made waterproof with some Nikwax or other similar product. For a shoe that doesn't have ankle support these provide you with a lot of stability & I can even wear a fairly packed backpack, I liked them so much I also got them in a mid which I sized up a half size for foot swell at altitude & will wear these on my next Kilimanjaro Expedition.

I use these shoes for every day around town and on light trails. I especially like the traction that the Five Ten's have. You have to realize that with them being that sticky you will give up some longevity but I was will to make that choice.
