Comments about Five Ten FIVE.TEN Men's Camp Four Approach Shoes:
These kicks are pretty good. I have worn them on a few hikes and I also wear them to work (film production, a lot of outdoor locations). Comfortable, I went up a half size but I might go up a full size for the next pair.

Comments about Five Ten FIVE.TEN Men's Camp Four Approach Shoes:
I wore these shoes for about 8 months, and during this time they offered great traction and were surprisingly good at keeping my feet dry. However after 6 months the internal lining came un-stitched and at the eight month mark the sole came unglued, rendering the shoes useless. I tried to repair them with epoxy, but that made walking uncomfortable so I had to get rid of them.
Great shoes, but don't expect them to stay in one piece for over a year if you wear them often.

Comments about Five Ten FIVE.TEN Men's Camp Four Approach Shoes:
I wear these backpacking and hiking in places like the Grand Canyon, Canyonlands, Cedar Mesa and rocky trails in Colorado - anywhere I'm on rock, wet or dry. With other brands I have found their soles slicker than snot on most wet rock. These stick. My first pair were used in Scotland where the rock is always wet. No slips.
I have wide feet so wider widths would be appreciated. I have to wear pretty skimpy socks at size 13 for these to be comfortable.
Don't know how they would fare in mud.

Comments about Five Ten FIVE.TEN Men's Camp Four Approach Shoes:
I use these shoes for every day around town and on light trails. I especially like the traction that the Five Ten's have. You have to realize that with them being that sticky you will give up some longevity but I was will to make that choice.

Comments about Five Ten FIVE.TEN Men's Camp Four Approach Shoes:
This is my 2nd pair of these shoes. After almost 3 years, the tread on the 1st pair is pretty low, so they have be delegated to yard work. These shoes really excel at everything. I use the for back packing (2-3 day trips with a 20-25 lbs pack), rock climbing approaches (Cannon, Mt. Willard, Gunks), riding my local trails on my ss mtb, trips to the store with my daughter and yes, yard work. I found that I have to order a 1/2 size larger than my street shoe (they feel too small lengthwise) but fit my wide foot well. I wish I could snug up the toe just a little bit more for scrambling routes, but that is a pretty minor concern for me. They are a little heavy, and feel a little bulky clipped to a climbing harness. But they provide better traction and foot support thatn my Old Vasque Sundowners. I should really buy a couple more pairs of these in case 5.10 stops making them.

Comments about Five Ten FIVE.TEN Men's Camp Four Approach Shoes:
I was looking to replace my favorite GTX low hiker. I had a pair of Teva's that gripped better than any other I have tried. I have read about the 5/10's and decided to give them a try.
Recently we went to Bar Harbor and did quite a few hikes including wet granite slabs, shore rock hopping, small stream and muddy trails. Even tho they are not GTX- I splashed thru several puddles and with my Smart Wool's my feet were nice and dry. They are excellent on wet granite and had no slips. I love the traction.
They are pricey- but I have several hiking shoes and with the Vibram soles had too many slips for my comfort, so I will pay for confidence on traction.
