Comments about Eastern Mountain Sports EMS Air Channel Sleeping Pad, Regular:
I recently completed a skiing/climbing trip in northern maine with my son. I have always had a problem with getting cold and sore hips with my other more expensive sleeping pads, no matter the weather. This trip involved tent camping on 15-18 inches of packed snow beneath our tent and -15 temps at night. Having slept hundreds of nights on the ground in my lifetime, and I cannot tell you how pleased I am with this product. I experienced no cold or soreness throughout the night. The vertical ribbing also kept me on the pad all night, something I always struggled with in the past. I am 6 feet tall and weigh about 175 lbs, and 58 years old. When we broke camp the next morning there was virtually no melting of the snow below the pad. This is a great product! Easy to inflate, very light to carry and yet not so thin that I was afraid to puncture it. I can't believe the price either. Once word gets out about this pad you'll sell a ton of them. Great job!! Comments about Eastern Mountain Sports EMS Air Channel Sleeping Pad, Regular:
Not 32 wide like description says, bought this for width. It is 20 wide. Still a very comfortable light pad that fits underneath my mountain hardwear bag like it was made for it.
I was very impressed that I did not slide all over the place unlike my big agnus or thermarest. I feel a cushion of comfort on this pad and am very impressed with the design and thought put into a very usable pad. Very light weight and compact for my minimalist trips. Great job !! A super piece of equipment that is rugged and comfort driven. EMS rules again

Comments about Eastern Mountain Sports EMS Air Channel Sleeping Pad, Regular:
Took this on a NOLS course. It was great! Stood up to the sharp and spiny things of the desert with just a nylon sheet between it and the rocky ground. The thin insulation did fold over on itself in a few places but overall it did its job. One of the best pieces of EMS gear to buy on sale [...]! Far less expensive than similar quality Big Agnes.

Comments about Eastern Mountain Sports EMS Air Channel Sleeping Pad, Regular:
I haven't had an opportunity to try this product on an overnight trip, but it looks to be everything I was hoping for; a light, easy to pack, very lightly insulated, that is comfortable enough for multi night backpacking trips and is a bargain compared to many other pads.

AS a long-time backpacker, I find this to be the perfect mat, simply because of how light and compact it is, but it is also the durability, and shape fits a mummy bag perfectly

Comments about Eastern Mountain Sports EMS Air Channel Sleeping Pad, Regular:
My camping experience is limited, but I have tried a variety of methods for sleeping pads. For the cost, one cannot beat the weight, comfort and ease of use. In conjunction with my down sleeping bag, there was some slippage and the size of the pad is minimum.
Overall, I find it very satisfactory.

Comments about Eastern Mountain Sports EMS Air Channel Sleeping Pad, Regular:
I also own a BA air pad and have been happy it. I went to EMS to purchase another for my son when I found the EMS pad on sale so I decided to give it a try.
The Good: The air pad is easier to inflate and deflate than my BA. I like the minimalist design.
The Bad: This pad is not as comfortable as my BA. It's also very noisy. I toss around a lot at night and I could hear the air transfer from one side to another. My BA does not have this problem. Try it out at the store and you'll know what I'm talking about.

Comments about Eastern Mountain Sports EMS Air Channel Sleeping Pad, Regular:
Golly this thing is comfortable! You can sleep on your side, your stomach, your other side and your back, or just roll around all night and this thing feels like a bottomless mattress. I think EMS stopped producing this - and if they did that is a shame because I don't want to go back to thermarest! This item is also light and cheap! My only complaint is that it takes some effort to blow it up; but my friend, it's worth it!
