PETZL Stop Descender
The Petzl Stop is a self-braking descender for single rope.Features/Benefits:
- Self-braking system operates when the handle is released
- Rate of descent is controlled by varying the grip on the free end of the rope
- Rope climbing is possible without changing the position of the STOP by adding a foot loop and a handled rope clamp/grab
- Spring clip allows the rope to be inserted without removing the STOP from the harness
- Replaceable cam and friction bobbin
- Use on single ropes from 9 to 12 mm

This thing works great. Only problem is it is difficult to pull the rope through to take up slack when ascending. Other than that it's awsume. I use mine in rock climbing and doing roof & building pressure washing.

i use this product for dropping vertical pits and rapelling walls. it is great when the rope is dry. not so great when your heavy duty rope is wet! overall this device can be used for almost every kind of decent and i would recomend it to anyone who is interested. it is also good to keep your old school decending rack as a back up for wet conditions such as some pits or sink holes and in some caving conditions. it is a fun device to opperate and gives you confidence when your life depends on it! I washed window's for 30 years used a rack 4 most of that..the rack has limits on how high I can Drop. the most is about 800 feet then the rope get's to heavy. i have tool's Water 2 Buckets & Now I have no limits. Save's me cash & now I have been working on 1200 foot rope's more CASH 4 me ..I like this Descender. If only you could have come up with it years ago..I have 5 men on my crew they all like it ..
