Comments about MAMMUT Moses Wiregate Carabiner:
I used a pair of these on a hammock I carry for taking a nap on the trail. While removing the hammock from the trees yesterday I noticed that the spine on one of them had bent away from the gate so much so that the gate no longer reached the hook but was just barely touching the tip of the spine. I can't imagine trusting one of these climbing.

Comments about MAMMUT Moses Wiregate Carabiner:
The Mammut Moses wiregate is one of my favorite biners - incredibly lightweight, full strength, and utterly reliable. It's bigger than the Nano 23, so I use the Moses on the rope side of my draws, with a Nano on the gear side. Nice positive gate and a good overall shape and size. Only thing that could be better would be anodized colors, but the bottom line is that this biner does exactly what it should do without fail, at an absolute minimal weight. That's good gear.
Comments about MAMMUT Moses Wiregate Carabiner:
In my opinion, this is the best of the lightweight biners. I like it better than the 23g Camp Nano and the 28g BD Oz because it is 3kN stronger yet not as quite as small. I like it better than the 36g Neutrino, although these are nicer for racking C4s as they're color-coded and a tiny bit stronger.
Overall these are my favorite light biners, and when paired with the Mammut dyneema slings, you can make a ridiculously light, full strength/function alpine draw.

Comments about MAMMUT Moses Wiregate Carabiner:
I use these mostly on the rope-end of runners. I've got some Camp Nano 23's which are a tad lighter, but also a tad smaller. The Camp's are fine for racking gear, but the Mammut Moses' are much better for the rope-end. Easy to operate (Even with my large hands), super lightweight, and much more affordable than DMM or other units.
Pros
- Easy to clip
- Excellent value
- Super Light
Cons
Best Uses
- Alpine draws
- Trad Climbing

Merchant response: Wow! With an CE certified open gate strength of 8Kn it's hard to imagine how you could have bent this how you described. For starters, the gate could not have been closed as it wouldn't have allowed the carabiner to bend without breaking the gate. Something must have pushed on teh gate to open it under load. We'll pass this on to Mammut, but I would say that the carabiner had to have been loaded in an awkward open gate position, with the load pulling near the notch, not along the spine of the carabiner as it should in a climbing application.
