Much better than sitting in loops or hanging on a regular climbing harness for any length of time. Adds a bit of weight, so everything is a trade-off. This is essentially what sailors use to work at the top of a mast on a sailboat, so they're designed to allow comfortable and safe working in places where there's exposure. Always have a backup belay point.

I used the product doing work on a tall radio tower. In my youth I was also an avid rock climber. The seat on this chair is nylon, and thus quite slippery. I was wearing cotton jeans, and I can't imagine how slippery it would be if one were wearing nylon windpants! It sure didn't give me a warm, fuzzy feeling 300' off the ground - even wearing my safety harness. I returned it to the store.
