This Via Ferrata set was used by my wife and I when we recently climbed the cables on Half Dome in Yosemite. Neither one of us took a fall on this system, but we were both very happy about the compact size and the easy locking mechanism for the beeners. Honestly, we were able to just "concentrate on the climbing" because we were not fumbling with screwing or unscrewing locking beeners or in jeopardy of having rope or slings slide off/out of beeners as we saw other people struggling with. Several people on the cables mentioned that they wished they had this setup for the climb. Then, others who had some method for clipping into the cables said they wished they had this Black Diamond set because of its simplicity and high functionality. Bottom line, we didn't have to carry extra rope, or multiple pieces of gear. We had our harness and this Via Ferrata set. It was easy to carry, easy to use and we could keep our attention on the mountain rather than our gear! I would highly recommend this product.
