    I use passive protection for setting top rope anchors. For some reason, when you do these reviews it seems to default to any old hex. Well, I like the BD hexes, but I wanted to talk about the #11 here, which is a HUGE hex. Given the right crack, it will give you solid protection. That said, it's not something you're going to use all the time because of its size. Sometimes I opt to leave it in the car. Of course, those are always the days when it would actually be useful. The same goes for the #10, which is slightly smaller, but still big.

    Bottom Line No, I would not recommend this to a friend

    These are great, reliable pro. But compared to curved hexes (Metolios) placement options are more limited. I like the #11, it is bigger than you can get in a curved hex.
