Comments about DAKINE Heli-Pro Deluxe Daypack:
I've used this pack for hiking/riding Tuckermans. It did a nice job carrying all the supplies I needed including board, boots, goggles, extra clothes, water, ice axe, and snacks. It's easy to get the board in/out even in steep terrain. It's light weight but has room for the stuff you need (but isn't oversized). Perfect pack for backcountry hiking & riding. Only wish it came in more colors/patterns.

Comments about DAKINE Heli-Pro Deluxe Daypack:
At first I was a bit worried about the quality of this pack at this price point. I'd been looking for a reasonably priced pack with board carrying capabilities to hike into the Backcountry of Mount Mansfield in Vermont. I really started to appreciate this pack as soon as I started hiking. Multiple board carry options, dedicated bladder space and tube guide, good nylon webbing straps (reinforced where the board edge comes in contact with the strapping) are all features I'm enjoying. The pack was easy to put on and remove when loaded with gear and board...just loosen the straps and away it goes. Most of all, I found the pack to be comfortable and easy on the back with it's sewn in padding, even when the bag was heavy with gear. Also, it was easy to strap my snowshoes in for the ride back down, and tigthening the straps before descent really helped keep the pack and it's contents from throwing me off balance on the way down. Given the demensions of the pack, it would probably fit most comfortably on a shorter/small to medium build torso (I'm 5'5" and 135lbs). Overall, rad purchase, would definatley buy again and recommend to a friend!

Comments about DAKINE Heli-Pro Deluxe Daypack:
I have seen this pack on the back of many a rider at resorts and ski areas all over the country so I thought I would give it a try. It has not failed me yet. Took it to Mt. Baker most recently and it swallowed all of my gear easily. Shovel, probe, snacks, water bladder sleeve with interior routing to keep the tube from freezing. Nice fleece lined goggle pocket, and waistbelt camera pocket. Even in the wet snow of the PCNW everything inside stayed relatively dry. The carrying system worked wonders when on a sled, sideways carrying rocked with this bag. The only thing I would change are the excess strap management, and the chest compression strap can easily break if you aren't careful. Otherwise this bag is a perfect addition for someone who likes to get off the mountain and into the sidecountry/backcountry of resorts. Great for an extra layer, and all the necessities while riding the snow.

Comments about DAKINE Heli-Pro Deluxe Daypack:
Several things about this pack attracted me. Mainly the system for ski carry, which is nice. Good pockets for storage and protection of things such as goggles and camera/phone.
The problem is the deluxe version is TWICE the weight of the standard. I knew this when I bought it, but didn't realize just how heavy it would be. Another con is the way that your hydration drinking tube feeds through the shoulder strap - very cumbersome.
I got this because it was on sale for less than the standard, but I would go with the standard Heli Pro.
