Comments about Five Ten FIVE.TEN Coyote Lace-Up Climbing Shoes:
These shoes are complete junk!
They will be ok for your first day of climbing and after that they restrict you more than anything.
The rubber sucks, the can't smear and you might as well forget about standing on edges!
You would be better off wearing your approach shoes.

Comments about Five Ten FIVE.TEN Coyote Lace-Up Climbing Shoes:
I ordered these and had to return them as they were just too small. The next size I received, while still tight and small was workable (I figured they would stretch a little). My toes are still curling a little but they seem to do the job.
I ordered them as they were widely advertised as a good model for beginners. They seem to be fitting that bill. Just be sure to try a half / full size larger.

Comments about Five Ten FIVE.TEN Coyote Lace-Up Climbing Shoes:
If you're new to climbing you can't beat this for a lace up shoe. It's comfortable enough to wear around the climbing gym all day long and only takes a few sessions to fully break in. Sizes ran a little big as I wear a 11.5 in most shoes and a 11.0 in this shoe. I found it's great for general bouldering and for climbing less difficult routes. A great shoe at a great price for a beginner climber. The only negative is that it's not a very stiff shoe, but as a beginner it shouldn't make a difference.

Comments about Five Ten FIVE.TEN Coyote Lace-Up Climbing Shoes:
This is an excellent beginner shoe, that has no stretching at all. The sizing was spot on with my street shoes, and the width worked very well for my narrower-than-average foot. I've climbed on these for about 2 times a week for 6 months and I would say they are a little over half worn out. The down side to these shoes is that my ability has quickly outpaced what my shoes can do. They are excellent for learning the sport but will probably need to be replaced before they wear out.

Comments about Five Ten FIVE.TEN Coyote Lace-Up Climbing Shoes:
A good shoe overall, comfortable, easily adjustable, good quality for the price. Rubber cracks and splits after a few months(depending on how much you climb). I have 2 other friends who own this shoe, all have the same problem, but shoe holds up after re-soling fairly well. The rest of the shoe holds up well and breaks in nicely. Not the best for long outdoor climbs, but you can make it work. I would recommend it to a beginner or intermediate climber looking for a mid-level quality shoe without spending too much.

This is my second pair. They are a great all around shoe. I prefer a comfortable shoe that I can wear all day without my feet screaming at me after one pitch.

Comments about Five Ten FIVE.TEN Coyote Lace-Up Climbing Shoes:
I own this shoe as well as my Evolv Shaman shoe. Honestly, don't let the price of THIS shoe fool you! I love mine! They work extremely well for me not only indoors, but outdoors on steep rock, slabs, etc. These shoes smear very well, you can get the toes IN well due to the nice pointed toe design and the rubber is quite sticky! I climb just as well with these shoes as my $150 Shaman's! Buy them I don't think you can go wrong honestly! I love mine - they work so well for me!

Comments about Five Ten FIVE.TEN Coyote Lace-Up Climbing Shoes:
I bought these when i first started climbing and they have served me well for the past nine months even though they got pretty stretched out by summer. I use these to warm up at the gym or on long climbs outside. super comfortable and they smear really well on limestone, even on plastic in the gym where my 5.10 team can't hold the smear these kick butt! i recommend you buy at least a full size smaller than your shoe size.

Comments about Five Ten FIVE.TEN Coyote Lace-Up Climbing Shoes:
This shoe is an ok beginner climbing shoe, but you can find better options. It is a lace up rather than a velcro, so it takes longer to put on and take off (a valid consideration if you are starting out climbing in the gym). The stealth C4 rubber is moderately sticky, but the edges round off quickly and the soles wear rather quickly also. The unlined leather stretches a lot (1/2+ size), if you size these shoes tight they will end up fitting loosely after about 6 months of consistent climbing. The shoe also has minimal stiffness in the sole, you can fold them in half easily right out of the box (not good). The shoe also feels sloppy when heel hooking (heel slides within the shoe). You can find comparably priced or cheaper shoes that will perform better and last longer.

Merchant response: It's clear these shoes didn't work for you and we'd be happy to help you return or exchange them...feel free to call us at 888-463-6367. That said we're not sure what you mean when claiming they are 'not adjustable'? Also C4 Stealth Rubber is widely used and highly regarded in the climbing industry. You make some great points and it’s worth knowing the Five Ten Coyote is an entry level shoe, meaning they are going to have a boxier and less sensitive fit. This fact makes it a little harder to smear or stand on tiny little edges…though typically the beginner climber needs to hone the art of footwork, and the Coyote protects the feet to a degree during this process. As your foot placements become more precise, controlled and dynamic you’ll want to upgrade your shoes and give your Coyote’s to a pal you’ve coerced into belaying you.
