TX Direct is Awesome! I used this spray on two jackets after washing them with Tech Wash, and they are like new. The water beads up and rolls off the shell almost as good as brand new. It did have a strange odor for a few days after application but, was well worth it for the improved performance. I said this in my Tech Wash review and i'll say it again. If your going to shell out top dollar for high performance fabrics, it's worth the few extra bucks for TX Direct spray to keep them working well.

Easy to use, just read the directions first. Washed my coat, layed it out while still wet, sprayed, waited, wiped excess, flipped the coat over and repeated, then dried. Now the coat repels water again :-)

This product restores water proofing to my outer shell garments. My favorite four year old Gore-Tex jacket still performs like brand new. They say to use the product on wet or dry garments but I prefer to spray on after washing while the garment is still very damp. I will then heat dry, respray, and air dry for extra coverage, but this is not necessary at all. I do recommend the Tech Wash be used for washing prior to spraying if you want 100% optimal performance, but the spray alone works wonders. Standard detergent residues will hinder fabric breathe-ability slightly. Use it on clean clothing. This is the only product i will use on my waterproof outerwear.

I used this yesterday for the first time, to renew the waterproofing on my EMS Thunderhead jacket. (Washed in Tech Wash first.) The spray nozzle itself is incredible - it's the most perfect, smooth spray I've ever used, and delivers the exact amount needed for uniform coverage of the product.
Take care to keep this stuff from landing on your skin, because it's very waterproof and stubborn to wash off. :)
Also, avoid over-spraying your gear. It just creates waste to wipe up anyway, plus once it dries, you may end up with waxy dried streaks. I'm sure this will rub off in time, and doesn't really hurt anything in the meantime, but it may be easier to do two lighter coats instead of one heavy coat.
FYI: I used most of 1 bottle on my Thunderhead. This is consistent with the guidelines that are listed on the back of the bottle. It suggested 9oz for 1 jacket; the bottle holds 10oz total.
This product is well worth it; it dramatically extends the usable life of gear at a very low cost compared to new gear.

I purchased this thinking it was for boots and shoes. It was not what I wanted. I read the description of it, and was feeling that it would be great for my winter leather boots. Would appreciate them noting on the bottle: "for fabrics only".
