I recently visited Philadelphia and rode with two friends all over the city for several days and at a lot at night. At night I wore an Ultra Bright 7 clipped in back to my belt. Some of the streets we rode on were very narrow and had a lot of car and bike traffic - I found that because of the flasher cars gave me noticeably more room at night than they did during the day. And, interestingly, they gave me more room than they gave the "unlit" guys I was riding with. For [$], it's a no-brainer to buy at least one of these. I'm getting another one to wear in front and I'm buying several more to give to friends as gifts. The flasher is bright as all get-out, it comes with a belt or clothing clip, velcro strips if you want to put it on your helmet or elsewhere, and mounting stuff to put it on your bike. This is a great investment: buy one for the front and one for the back -- you deserve to be safe so you can enjoy riding your bike!

Unlike other lights I've seen, this one has the LEDs mounted at different angles within the unit. So some point straight out, to the side, at 45 degrees and out the top and bottom. This greatly improves your visibility. I leave the velcro strap on the back of my helmet and clip on the light at night (I have an additional light on the seatpost). The clip is strong and reliable. The switch will not allow the unit to be accidentally turned on in a bag. Highly recommended.
