  • PARK TOOL CM-5 Cyclone Chain Scrubber

A clean chain is a happy chain, which means fewer headaches for the cyclist. Without having to remove the chain from the bike, the Cyclone involves a degreaser reservoir and hundreds of rotating bristles that wrap around the chain for thorough cleaning.

    Features/Benefits:

    • Snap the unit around the chain, and rotate your pedals while holding the scrubber unit - it's that simple
    • Strong plastic handle makes operation quick and easy
    • Wicking sponge minimizes mess
    • Works on most multi- and single-speed bikes
    • Magnet at base of fluid reservoir controls metallic debris scrubbed from the chain
    • Regular chain cleaning improves shifting performance and extends the life of the drivetrain

Comments about PARK TOOL CM-5 Cyclone Chain Scrubber:

I orginally bought this chain cleaner because my local bike shop wasn't doing a great job with upkeep on my trek. I've used the CM-5 on my bike and friends along with CB-2 and White lighting. The 3 of these products are a must have for a biker of any level.

This works just fine. I had never used one before and I had no problem understanding how to use it. If you're riding in rough conditions and want to keep you're bike (investment) clean, pick this up!

Comments about PARK TOOL CM-5 Cyclone Chain Scrubber:

I use this for my mountain bike chain. It is very easy to set up and works excellently. Pop off the little magnet on the bottom after the first time you use it to clean new components and you will be amazed at all of the little metal bits which come pouring out of the unit. Clean the chain in three stages. First, use degreaser (I use the parktool stuff since it isn't that expensive, but people who are clever with chemicals could probably mix their own and save a bit of money). Next, after cleaning out the chain scrubber thoroughly in running water, use dish soap and warm water. Rinse the chain scrubber again, and then run the chain through it a third time with just warm water to rinse it off. The combination of these three cleaning cycles will make your chain shine with a silvery color you never knew existed beneath all of that grease and dirt. Make sure to remember to grease the chain up again as soon as it dries so that it doesn't rust.
