I just used this bag for the first time two nites in the White Mountains, NH in the middle of Feb. It is solid Western Mountaineering quality that you would expect and engineered so beautifully, you hate to put it into to such abusive circumstances :-)

I stayed warm during nites where everything froze and frosted. To say I slept well would be not true, because there was so much moisture around me. The bag was not affected by ice/frost from inside the tent falling all over it. On the other hand, I slept w/my layers and boot liners inside the bag to keep them from freezing, and the bag got very damp from that--not the bag's fault.

I would recommend getting a larger size than needed for very cold trips, because you will probably need to sleep with layers and such, and it's nice to shove them way down to the bottom of the bag.

The only con (not unique to this bag) is that it takes up a considerable amount of space in the pack, even packed down very hard

Worth the price when you consider how critical this gear is in these conditions

Took this on a week lo trip to mt Rainer in February, camped low and high on the mt and was real warm at night while temps went negative. Didn't get close to -25 but I honk Id be ok. I should note I also use a silk liner mainly to kee the bag clean but It does add a few degrees. Plenty of extra room to store clothes, bottles and gear inside. Doesn't pack real well with the gorewindstopper outside but if you turn it inside out it packs a little better. I use the stuff sack it came with then out it in a compression sack I had to get it a bit smaller as well. Tent code satin is not a problem due to the gore wind stopper,cseems rip resistant but not testing that anytime soon due to the price tag. Over all worth it and looking forward to using on bigger mountains soon.

I have used this sleeping bag twice, once it was 40 degrees and it was to warm for me. The second time I used the Puma was 1/22/2013 it was -6 degrees with little wind and a dusting of snow under clear skies. The equipment: North face Mountain 35, cheap styrofoam pad, next basecamp air pad rated at an R- value of 5 and camp pillow. Used UCO candle all night. I wore expedition weight baselayers and Smartwool mountain socks with a hat. Put warm bottle in sleeping bag before getting in and then left the bottle at my feet for the night. I did wake a few times and noticed it was very cold on my face but the rest of my body was nice and warm all night. Took the water bottle out in the morning and found it to be warm.
