I basically got this towel for free [...]Given that I didn't expect too much, and thought it would likely just be a standard microfiber towel. But to my surprise it worked extremely well and is in fact more absorbent than standard micro-fiber towels I've used on my cars. On a 3 day 20+ mile Kayak trip it was MORE than adequate to dry my entire body off after bathing in the river. Making my nights far more comfortable and refreshing! Well worth even the normal purchase price since it is sooo packable and convenient. I plan on always using it for travel since can easily be kept in my lightweight CamelBak travel backback at all times.

I've used this towel for camping & travel and while it feels nice, it dries incredibly slowly -- even slower than a normal cotton terry towel! I hung it up one night and when I had to pack it the next morning it was still so damp that by the next unpack it smelled and needed to be washed. Gross.

I purchased 2 tek towels to be used on our sailboat. We also hike & camp and should get good use out of them.
I am not sure about how they respond to oily products such as sunblock or lotins.

Merchant response: Thank you for your review. Our own testing has indicated that with a strong "wringing" and anything less than a very humid day this towel dries in hours, especially if there is any sun out, but if you are unhappy with it please return it via our Return Policy!
