Comments about CAMELBAK Ergo Hydrolock Valve:
The valve lever is in a nice compact position when open. However when in the closed position the valve lever is sticking up. This is an issue as you slide the valve in and out of the insulated pack (ie a winter pack with the valve in the shoulder strap). I find it ironic that camelbak would include this valve on any winter pack. I've been looking for a replacement (straight valve) to replace this. It's not fun having water freeze in the shoulder strap). This would be such a simple fix if the hole in the valve lever was drilled at a different angle.

Comments about CAMELBAK Ergo Hydrolock Valve:
I used this to add an extra reservoir to my CamelBak HAWG for my dogs. I added a removable extension tube using the Quick Link Conversion Kit and the Ergo Hydorlock Valve. The Quick Link allows me to pop the extension tube on and, using the Ergo Hydrolock without the bite valve, I can quickly siphon water into the dog's collapsible bowl without having to take my CamelBak off. It works great!

Comments about CAMELBAK Ergo Hydrolock Valve:
This valve is a fantastic addition to a reservoir system. Keeps the bite valve from leaking. If only it came standard with the systems...

Comments about CAMELBAK Ergo Hydrolock Valve:
Simple, but effective! Weighs nothing and saves your single most valuable asset on any edventure, your water! I've used hydration packs FOREVER and while bite valves have improved, these little hydrolock valves really help a ton. Will never get a hydration pack without one.

Merchant response: Thanks for your review. We suggest using one of the newer CamelBak bladders with the quick disconnect at the base of the bladder so you can leave the tube in the shoulder strap and not have to continually re-thread. Also, when it is really cold out, even with the insulated tube, we recommend "blowing back" to prevent the water in the tube from freezing. Our winter climbing guides in North Conway recommend regular water bottles for truly cold trips.
