For people paddling in the winter in northern climes, a skull cap is a must. My former one (from Bombergear) was a slightly insulated swim cap that worked well. The Mystery hood improves on it by being a bit warmer and having ear holes to improve hearing with the flaps down. The strap while useful in a wind, tends to pull ear flaps down when not in use. Strapping it behind your head works to get around this. All in all a great product that is worth getting for the cold weather paddler.
