I bought these locks along with a rack for my Toyota Corolla. I installed everything according to the directions but a few weeks later I woke up one morning and the rack was gone. There were some slight scratches on my roof where it was but it was gone. My cars alarm was set but it never even went off. The thieves were able to remove the rack with the locks in place and locked and they didnt even have to use enough force to set off the alarm. I contacted Thule and was told that there was no guarantee that their locks would prevent theft. So I guess they are good for preventing the casual thief form absconding with your rack but if someone really wants it these locks wont do a thing to stop them.

These locks fit into the Thule foot pad and prevent some miscreant from stealing your very expensive Thule roof rack system. After going $380 plus for the system I put together to haul my canoe the money spent for these locks was worth it.

I bought a 4-Pak because I ordered a T2+2 Thule rack. Also ordered a Snug-Tight and realized you can utilize these lock cyclinders to match the same key. Item works great and keeps your bikes more secure. Not expecting this set-up to work like fort knox but something is better than nothing. If you want to have the same key set for all locks, get an extra cylinder for the Snug-Tight too. Otherwise love Thule's Products and EMS! Happy Trails.

Adds a little extra to the looks of the rack system and also protects a significant investment. I would recommend buying 1-2 extra cylinders up front if you plan on expanding you rack system. [...] 1 key for the entire system is very convenient.

Locks perform as expected.
Cons:
Installation/Removal requires a special key. However removal should be seldom.
Installing the locks requires a fair bit of force to seat the lock.
