The thing I like most about the Thule 523 load straps is how easy they are to use. Light weight yet heavy duty. and the rubber gaurds around the (for lack of a better word) buckle are never maring my KAYAK. I've tried rope and straps with the ratchit divice that would swing and scratch the kayak not to mention my SUV. Thule straps are just so nice and form fitting, adding peace of mind when driving, I'm looking for another kayak for my girlfriend. So i'll be in the market for some more of the Thule straps......thanks THULE

With a roof rack and a set or two of these we have hauled all sorts of oddly shaped objects safely and securely on a very small car. They have been invaluable for moving chairs, beds, kayaks, sailboats,... and are my favorites from our large bag of straps because their heavier weight webbing makes it easier to feed the strap through the buckle.

The 523 Load Straps by Thule are a great combo with my J hook carriers for my kayak. They hold the kayak in place going down the highway. I carry them in my car all the time.

I use this product to secure my kayaks during transportation to the ocean. They have never never become lose as other products have. The tight weave also allows for ease of sliding through the buckle even when wet. These are the only ones I use now and I transport up to 4 kayaks at a time.
