I use it for my snow board and cross country skis. I think the product is fantastic and makes loading and unloading your gear very easy especially if you're concerned about scratching the paint on your car with loose buttons or zippers on your jacket. One point that should be mentioned is that the carrier may freeze from time to time and make the telescopic bars difficult to extend outward for loading. This is the first product that I've bought from Thule and it won't be the last.

We have a Yukon and I would not be able to reach up there easily to load our skis. The telescoping design allows me to load the skis from the ground instead of while perched on the running board or floor of the vehicle. You do have to push the arms back in before closing and locking the hinges, which can make reaching one of the bars more difficult, and I do have to do that from the running boards but at least I don't have to maneuver skis as well. Overall, I was able to take 2 small kids skiing and loading/locking and unlocking/unloading the skis didn't take more than a couple minutes.

I love this rack, the fact that it slides towards you makes loading and unloading my snowboards a snap, it was a little more than what I wanted to spend. But the more I thought about it I didn't want to be climbing all over my car just to get the snowboards out of the rack. It says that it is intended for suv's and larger car, I have it on my tiny nissan compact, works great, wouldn't change anything!

This is the first ski rack I have ever owned. It was easy to install and a good value for the price. I bought it for the pull-top function, but was dissappointed that it only opens and closes in the retracted position. On most suv's this means you have to use a tire or running boards to get up to close it. Otherwise it works well on my Pilot and is fairly quiet when used with the factory crossbars.
