    While excellent otherwise, EMS cargo pants have weak buckles that unlatch unexpectantly. Purchased these to replace the pants built-in belt buckles. Cut off the old buckles with wire cutters, and just slide the female buckle on the belt's buckle loop, then thread the male part onto the belt's other end -- a 5 minute job with no sewing etc. EMS store employee gave me a set free after I pointed out pants problem. Worked so well, I bought two sets to replace the buckles on my other EMS cargo pants. EXCELLENT product, just wish EMS used them on their pants to begin with.

        These are great to replace broken side buckles where the female side is attached to a sewn on loop. If the loop is really tight it can take a little work to get these on, but compared to having to cut and re-sew the loop these are a snap. They appear really strong as well and I'm guessing they will last a lot longer than the original buckles on my Lowe Alpine 65 liter pack.
