I have used this headlamp from reading in bed to multi day hikes in the winter and everything in between. It is small enough to put in your pack and forget about it on a day hike and also small enough not to notice it on a predawn start and forget that it is still on your head until you review the picture your buddy just took latter in the day. One of these predawn hikes was in the winter with a temp of -20F and there were no issues. I now have two of these headlamps, the second was a replacement for the first that my wife kept stealing from me (and I eventually gave to her). I have had the first for the better part of three years and I have had zero problems with it. There are smaller headlamps but I believe this one is a great balance of size, weight and performance.

The variable brightness makes it very usesful for night flying. The easy red/white switch makes it easy to transition from preflight (white) to flight (red) to postflight (white). The strap fits nicely under a headset.

It was great for around camp, in the tent, or on the trail. Recently used it on a dog-sledding trip in Algonquin Park. Three nights and the battery was still going strong. The red cover is very tent-companion friendly. I'm surprised at how bright it is for its small size. Definitely worth the money.

I use it on backpacking trips. I'm also an Assistant Scoutmaster. This comes in handy when I'm working with the youth.

Comfortable Fit and easy to adjust. Love triple AAA battery but 3 adds to the weight over two. Easier to switch lumes vs. the lighter e-lite. Was my 1st choice for a Headlamp and glad I got it at a great price. Key item for AT Thru Hike.

Great product. I thought I would use it for night time boating and fishing but found use for it around the house doing numerous projects instead of a flashlight.

Sister bought me this years ago and it's been great at every beat. It's been through winter hikes to summer canoe trips. Even found it in a few feet of water off a river bank in the morning after sobering up and it still worked(I guess that makes it kinda water resistant..). Hardly ever change the batteries(Only really use it when I need it so I guess i dont tax em)The red filter flip up is really good for night vision and dosent startle night crawlers like white light seems to so thats kinda convenient!
But anyway long review short: it's the most durable and dependable light source I've used. Has a pretty strong beam and range at full and the flashing mode is nice for jogging or making yourself a buoy.

I have several headlamps; and this one's snap together assembly doesn't seem appropriate for a lamp in this price range. Also, the red filter is far more difficult to use than it should be.

Not only can this help you find your way around camp at night, it can also function as a compact mobile party light! With both White LEDs and the red filter, you can bring the party anywhere.

Also helps you see the moose that is 5 feet away from your tent in the middle of the night in the middle of nowhere (3 mi north-northeast of somewhere). Which I guess could be filed as a "con". At least it wasn't a mountain lion?
