Comments about PETZL Attache 3D Carabiner:
The Petzl 3D Attache locking carabiner is a breakthrough in lightweight locking technology. First, the mouth opens wider than other small lockers - wide enough to clip into the group of slings typically found wrapped around trees at the Gunks. Second, other small lockers sometimes make it difficult to remove a weighted clove hitch because it tends to bind tightly - this one has a no-snag nose, so the knot simply slips off when opened. You still need a larger carabiner for tasks that cause heat and friction, such as rappelling or a point where a top-rope runs through, but this should replace all your other locking carabiners and save significant weight for all-day trad climbing.

Comments about PETZL Attache 3D Carabiner:
The Attache 3Ds are the very best belay carabiners I've ever used. They are remarkably light in comparison to any of their competition, including the original Attache, but have the same rope bearing surface as heavier carabiners, saving wear and tear on your ropes when lowering or rapping. The keylock noses are a huge benefit. Once you've tried keylock carabiners, you won't want anything else on the rack. The large end of the carabiner is perfect for munter hitches as well. Hands down, the best HMS style carabiner out there.

Comments about PETZL Attache 3D Carabiner:
My go to biner has always been the Petzl Attache. It's a compact, smooth, relatively light biner. The red open indicator always helps to see if your biner is locked with a quick glance. The new Attache 3D takes all the same characteristics, but makes it ultra light weight. It also improved on the inner rope bearing surface. There is nothing for the rope to get snagged on. Everything is smooth all the way around. Nicely done!

Comments about PETZL Attache 3D Carabiner:
I purchased this carabiner to use solely when outdoor sport/trad climbing. I wanted a strong yet light weight carabiner to use outdoor when belaying. I use it to attach my belay device to my harness.
