Comments about PETZL Hirundos Climbing Harness:
The new Hirundos is my harness of choice for practically every climbing situation. It is so light and well-fitting that it doesn't get in my way when I'm sport climbing. Despite it's light weight, it is still comfortable for hanging in during long belay sessions. The Hirundos has four gear loops that accommodate a lot of gear for trad climbing. The DoubleBack buckle is worry-free. I can't imagine a better fitting or better performing harness.

Comments about PETZL Hirundos Climbing Harness:
WHAT HARNESS?? IT ALMOST FEELS LIKE YOUR NOT EVEN WEARING ONE AT TIMES. ITS BARE MINIMUM WHILE FUNCTIONAL.I GOT A MED AND I WEAR A 32. IT DOES FIT A LITTLE SMALL IN THE WAIST BUT NOT BY MUCH. MY LEGS ARE GOOD SIZED AND IF YOUR NOT WEARING SOME REALLY THICK PANTS, IT SHOULD FIT FINE. PRICED A LITTLE HIGH AS ALL PETZL GEAR IS, BUT YOU REALLY DO GET WHAT YOU PAY FOR. AWESOME HARNESS.

Comments about PETZL Hirundos Climbing Harness:
I know, I know...the Hirundos is billed as an ultra light, high end sport climbing harness, and it is. But it's also much more than that.
I use mine for any and all climbing applications that don't involve lots of hanging belays. While it's remarkably comfortable considering it's light weight and trim construction, it's not a big wall harness! But for 99% of my climbing, it's ideal.
Perhaps my favorite use is winter climbing. The pack and rack get heavy enough in the winter without a big, bulky, overly padded harness in the mix. When the snow flys, I add 4 Caritools for screws and places to clip tools, and I have a light weight, low-bulk ice and mixed climbing harness. I find the leg loops have plenty of stretch to fit comfortably over my layers, and extra padding is overkill when I have layers on anyway.
The bottom line is that while the Hirundos performs as advertised for sport climbing, it's probably better to think of it as a super versatile harness that excels any place weight and bulk are more of a consideration than hanging belay comfort. Think ice, alpine, traditional cragging, and of course, sport.

Comments about PETZL Hirundos Climbing Harness:
This harness is one of the lightest 4 gear loop, fully functional harnesses around. Not the best for extended hang dogging or hanging belays but perfect for sport climbing/redpoint climbing. I even use it trad climbing/multipitch climbing occassionally.

Comments about PETZL Hirundos Climbing Harness:
I saw my guide wearing the Hirundos and decided to pick one up before my trip to Colorado. The harness is incredibly comfortable and I often forget it is on. We did some trad and drove to Ouray for ice and the harness performed great in both scenarios. The side clips fit well for ice climbing.
The Hirundos is a noticeable step up from my BD harness which is also good.
The only thing to consider is that the design is minimal, specifically the belay loop. So if you're one of these folks that wants to get 10 years out of every piece, bear in mind that this isn't the thickest harness.
Since I have two, I just wear my BD at the gym where space/comfort ins't as critical and exclusively use the Hirundos outdoors.
