petzl's gate is ideal for an oval/aid biner...one less thing to snag in all the junk you use ovals with. petzls are pricey but c'mon, for a dozen biners, it's maybe [$] extra - not a lot over a lifetime of use.even if you don't aid, nice to have for places symmetrical biners are best: racking stoppers, hanging off the anchor, TRs (doubled/reversed gates), and racking small TCUs if you rack that way.[...]
