The BlueIce Pick by Petzl is designed with a narrow forge for steep ice climbing, and is a replacement pick for the Aztar ice tool. Features an integrated wrench so it can be changed without additional tools.Features/Benefits:

This is a great all around pick for the Aztar. The axe is designed as an all-around alpine tool, and therefore the pick is designed the same way. This pick doesn't perform exceptionally well (without tweaking) on steep ice. However it works great on moderate ice falls and hard packed snow. For dry tooling or lots of mixed climbing, I would suggest the thicker 4mm pick.

The BlueIce 3mm pick for the Aztar tool by Petzl is very functional. I have used the pick and tool for steep glacial ice on Rainier to vertical water ice in the Adirondacks. Although I've climbed NEI 4+ to 5- ice with this pick and tool, it is better suited for NEI 2-3+.
