Comments about LEATHERMAN Skeletool CX Multitool:
I have owned many knives and have a few leatherman starting with the original pst. My prayers have been answered. Finally there is a tool that I can carry everyday without wieghing my pants down. It has all of the tools that you would need most often without the stuff that adds unneeded weight. The pocket clip works great so no need for a belt and sheath. Solid build, great grip, interchangeable bits. If you want a multitool for everyday carry, this is the one to buy. THIS TOOL ROCKS!

Comments about LEATHERMAN Skeletool CX Multitool:
Great knife, but needs a can opener. I would definitely ask for a can opener before the 4 different screwdriver bits, or even the bottle opener. it seems like there is plenty of room to add one to the knife.

Comments about LEATHERMAN Skeletool CX Multitool:
The two different clips on this leatherman make it easy to always have it with me when needed. It has the most common tools that I always am in need of. I personally have been waiting for this kind of tool for a few years. I have another leatherman that I take along backpacking and hiking, but this leatherman is with me everywhere now. If you constantly use more than the bare minimum for tools, this probably isn't for you. However, if you mostly just use a pocket knife, but love to have pliers and a screwdriver around, this is just for you.

Comments about LEATHERMAN Skeletool CX Multitool:
This was in my top 3 as a new multi-tool purchase, but fell off my radar after deciding I wanted more tools. Then a co-worker got one and I had to have one too! Don't look at it as a multi-tool, but more as a knife replacer. In other words, as a multi-tool it falls a little short on features, but carried instead of a pocket knife, that is where it shines.

Comments about LEATHERMAN Skeletool CX Multitool:
I use the skeletool cx for whatever needs tightening, wire cutting/stripping, game processing (wild animals and fish), and opening bottles. The knife is very sharp and holds an edge well. The pliers are tight and cutters work well. The only problem is the bit-driver is loose. The bit rattles around and fell out in my pocket once. I rigged a shim to hold the tab tight against the bit. It appears the notch in the bits are not deep enough for the tab to fully grab it. Other than that its a nice, functional, lightweight multi-tool.

Comments about LEATHERMAN Skeletool CX Multitool:
I originally bought this product for my husband. Then I bought it for my uncle. What is great about this product is it is so light and it only has a few tools which all work and perform perfectly. Not to mention its superior looking design. The knife is extremely sharp!
I love this product so much that I had to buy myself one! I can easily clip it on to my jeans and no be bothered by the weight. I also get tons of comments on it. People love it.
If you want a tool that does what it says, is light and looks super sleek this tool is for you!

Comments about LEATHERMAN Skeletool CX Multitool:
I recently went up to the Presidential Range, White Mountains in New Hampshire. this knife was great. It did everything I could ask for. But, sadly the weather was not the best and I was forced to battle inches of rain and 60 mph winds on the summits almost everyday. this is where my Skeletool CX failed. My skeletool came across water and i tryed to hand dry it as best as I can. But, sadly when my trip was over and i was cleaning up my gear, I notice a huge amount of rust on my blade and especailly on the pliers. I called leatherman and was notified that rust is not on the warranty and was now up to the challenge of cleaning all the rust off my skeletool cx. Sadly, I have yet to accomplish this because the rust is in huge quantities. I'll keep trying though. Overall, great knife but keep it dry. It maybe stainless steel, but it's not stainless enough to be anti-rust FOR IT'S FIRST TRIP.

Comments about LEATHERMAN Skeletool CX Multitool:
If you have been researching this model, you probably realize that the less-expensive Skeletool is the same weight as the CX. Get the CX anyway. The blade is made of nicer metal and is partially serrated, which will help if you have to cut through tough nylon webbing or clibming rope. They are, otherwise, identical except for the darker color and decorative carbon fiber inserts, which make it cooler and more pretentious and you know you want that ooh-ahh factor.
Purchasing the bit kit is a worthwhile investment. The CX comes with two double-ended bits. One is two sizes of phillips-head and the other is two sizes of flat head. The bit kit will give you a wide range of Torx, Allen, etc. so you can carry the bits that match the gear you are most likely to need to repair in the field (ski bindings, backpacking stoves, mountain bikes, etc.). This is not a handyman's Leatherman. Splurge for the Charge TTi if you want every tool under the sun in three different sizes. This is just the absolute minimal essentials for the weight-conscious hiker or climber. I do wish it has the useful little wood saw in it, but I'll carry a cable saw, which will be more effective anyway.

Comments about LEATHERMAN Skeletool CX Multitool:
I already had an original Leatherman Super Tool (circa mid-90's), as well as a newer Leatherman Wave. Both are excellent, but weigh enough that it isn't always ideal to carry them around. I got a Skeletool Cx six months ago, and it's light enough that I now carry it all day every day, and forget it's there until I need to use it. The knife is ultra sharp, the bit driver has worked great in many applications so far, and the pliers are "strong enough" for moderate jobs. (You're not going to rebuild an engine with this thing, but it isn't built for that purpose anyway.)
Overall, this is just a fantastic product. I am 100% satisfied. Would definitely recommend to a friend.
