Comments about BACKPACKER'S PANTRY Pad Thai:
all 3 of us liked this a lot but there are 2 pkgs of peanut butter and one package of peanuts to add to the meal and that is way too much - makes it high in cal but too heavy, messy w/p.b. and lots of packaging garbage left over. If you're a leave-no-trace person as most backpackers should be, garbage is a concern.
Pros
- Huge Portion
- Lots Of Calories
- Works Quickly
Cons
- Bad Taste
- Expired Peanut Butter
- Hard to Swallow
- Nauseating
- Sits Heavy

Comments about BACKPACKER'S PANTRY Pad Thai:
Bought a few of these to bring on a trip to Zion and the Grand Canyon. It was one of the few vegan options Backpacker's Pantry offers so I loaded up on these and the rice and beans. Thank goodness I had enough extra of the rice and beans to last the whole trip. I'd go as far as to say that the rice and beans is a pretty good meal. Little salty but you usually need that salt anyway.
The taste is very bland and it sits extremely heavy in your stomach. I'm getting a little nauseous right now just thinking about it.

Comments about BACKPACKER'S PANTRY Pad Thai:
A nice change from more traditional dehydrated meals for backpacking. Mt son and I have enjoyed this a a dinner on the trail several times and we now include Pad Thai as one of our dionners on multi-day trips. Not too spicy but a hint of red Thai seasoning.

Comments about BACKPACKER'S PANTRY Pad Thai:
tried this on a multi day trip. boiled water, added water, waited 15 mins, and ate it. pretty basic. tasted great, and after hiking all day it turned out to be one serving for me. its not super cheap, so im going to try and make my own boiled water meals. but this is a delicious meal.

Comments about BACKPACKER'S PANTRY Pad Thai:
This was an excellent meal, though I wouldn't say it was restaurant quality. I was slightly disappointed at first because the meal came out too soupy when prepared as directed -- I'd recommend cutting back on the boiling water, maybe 1/2 cup less (you can always add more later if you want). This was the first meal I've encountered with separate pouches inside (for roasted peanuts and peanut butter). These are added before the boiling water, so it's no big deal, and the peanuts stayed crunchy until the end. At almost 1000 calories per package, this meal excels at providing the most bang for the buck!

- High Calories for fuel
Cons
- Has Side Effects

Comments about BACKPACKER'S PANTRY Pad Thai:
At first bite I was very impressed by this product. I mean this dish was t-a-s-t-y. But as I continued to eat it, it became less and less tasty until I could barely choke down the remainder in my bowl. Since I was merely testing this product for a future long distance hike (the PCT), I was planning to eat half the bag and have the rest for lunch the next day. This meal made me so queasy however, that the thought of eating another serving of it literally made me gag. Though it tasted amazingly good at first, this particular product left me feeling nauseated for several hours after eating. Like the previous reviewer, it could be perfect for you. I would suggest trying one out before buying in a larger quantity however. I also agree that you should add slightly less water than suggested. Mine was a little soupy when prepared as directed.
Pros
- Easy to mix and fix
- Tasty
Cons
Best Uses
- Mealtime in the boonies
Comments about BACKPACKER'S PANTRY Pad Thai:
The first time I had this in the backwoods, I remembered having Pad Thai in Palm Desert, CA. Simple to fix and mix. Spiced well. Use slightly less hot water than what is on the instructions.
