Pros: Sturdy and fit well over Black Diamond pole tips. Cons: Hard to remove (pull/twist off) - so push on only part way if you are only using them to cover the tips when not hiking.

Comments about BLACK DIAMOND Trek Pole Tip Protectors:

These protectors slip on very easily over the metal tips of the poles. They stayed on over a weeklong period of short and long dayhikes, including canyons and large scree. Highly recommended if you're going to be hiking on solid rock and want to cut down on the amount of "clicking" noise the normal metal pole tips make.

Comments about BLACK DIAMOND Trek Pole Tip Protectors:

the pole tip protector is a great way to keep the tips of my Black Diamond ski/trekking poles. I expected them to fit "out of the box." However they were a bit too wide in diameter. I made it work by wrapping the poles with duct tape. When hiking I nearly lost the tips in heavy mud a few times. I would recommend the product ---but not for mud

Comments about BLACK DIAMOND Trek Pole Tip Protectors:

I have never been a fan of the chatter coming from trekking poles on the trail. I enjoy the peace and quiet and I also look forward to the possibility of wildlife sightings. I find these tips fit perfectly with my expectations. I am a recent convert from my old style walking sticks with rubber tips to the high tech world of trekking poles and these little additions are icing on the cake. I am very impressed with the traction they provide as well. They are excellent on the many hard, smooth surfaces I encounter on the trail.

Comments about BLACK DIAMOND Trek Pole Tip Protectors:

Don't know about durability yet, but seems well made. Definitely worthwhile if using poles on hard surfaces, especially if you get tired of the click clack of the carbide tips. Incidentally I tried to use Komperdell rubber tip protectors on my Black Diamond poles and they did not fit.

Comments about BLACK DIAMOND Trek Pole Tip Protectors:

Adds grip to your trekking poles and prevents that annoying noise when slipping on hard surfaces. Most of all though, prevents marking up rocks when hiking! I love that feature, seeing hundreds of scrap marks all over rocks when hiking ruins the point of hiking for me. Have not used them long enough to test durability, but so far promising.
