Comments about PETZL Shunt Rope Clamp:
Awesome and simple to use device. It replaces all my rappel backup prusiks (6mm &7mm). Nice little device if you don't mind an extra 188 grams on your rack.
I use it mostly as a rappel backup on the brake below my figure-8 clipped on a leg strap with a locking carabiner. I usually rappel with 10.2mm double rope and it works real smooth...a lot smoother than prusiks. No jamming problems. It has smooth cams and won't damage your rope like the hand ascenders can. Nice color too.

Comments about PETZL Shunt Rope Clamp:
I use the Shunt primarily as a prussik replacement. I've also used it as a self-belay device on top-rope setup. This comes in handy when climbing in odd-numbered parties.

Comments about PETZL Shunt Rope Clamp:
AWESOME PRODUCT. Only acender/decender that works with Cams rather than Teeth which eat up your rope. Cams slowly cause knots in the rope, but after long use. Definately the better alternative. Your own weight activates the cams. Works perfectly and very cost efficient.
