I liked the idea of idea of this product but after using it, I found that it doesn't hold up well. There are "knit lines" in the shovel from molding that over time, will weaken and break. Especially in the cold. I don't advise bending it like a splint unless necessary. Overall though, it works well and itsn't much to carry around.

Moves a lot of snow quickly. It is lightweight and fits easily in or on a pack so taking it along as a precaution while backcountry skiing or snowshoeing is a no-brainer.
