This is a great lightweight cord for general use. We use it for pitching the tent (especially on platforms), stringing up food and in the tool kit. We have also used it as the draw cords on stuff sacks and as the arch cord on gaiters.

I have used this cord for hanging my bear bag for over 3 years. It is ideal in that it is lightweight, easy to work with in that you can toss it over the branch then pull your food bag up high enough to prevent critter invasions on your food.
Highly recommend for this use.
